Birth Center & Maternity Services

Maternity Services & Care in Reno & Sparks NV

The Northern Nevada Midwives Association offers a range of personalized maternity services and maternity care, including free consultations at our birth center in Reno, comprehensive prenatal care, home and water births, and attentive postpartum support. Their certified midwives prioritize informed consent and offer individualized care throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period. The center emphasizes empowerment and safety for mothers choosing home or birth center experiences.

Consulting

We offer a 1-hour free consultation at our Reno Birth Center! During that time you will meet with your NARM & MEAC Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and begin your journey together. They can answer all of your questions and concerns about the entire birthing process, whether at home or the birth center.   We will work with both insurance-covered and out-of-network providers to help you maximize insurance reimbursement.

Labor & Delivery

Every woman has a right to decide how and where they birth their baby. Whether you are desiring a home birth, a water birth, or just a birth where you can make your own decisions the NNMA is here to guide your journey. Your birth team will be there to support you and ensure that you are safe through the whole process. We also work with many outside partners for products and services to help you every step of the way.

Prenatal

Our prenatal care follows the ACOG recommended Standard of care including prenatal visits, genetic testing, ultrasounds for dating, and anatomy scans.  All of our testing is done with informed consent.  This means that we will explain the tests that we do, explain the reason for the test, and let you decide if that test is necessary for you.

Postpartum Care

Your journey with us doesn’t end at birth. Good postpartum care is something that really sets the NNMA and midwifery apart from your traditional hospital birth.  Midwives recognize the challenges that women go through after delivery. Whether it’s nursing issues or adjusting to your changing hormones, the exhaustion of intensive labor and birth, or just lack of sleep after baby comes.  Motherhood is not easy and it is not uncommon or surprising that moms need additional support during this time.

Jackie provided me with exceptional care during my second pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period. I felt very safe, comforted & respected under her care. She helped me have the home birth I envisioned & I couldn't be more grateful.
